Opaque privacy protection
Especially on the ground floor or in apartment buildings, it is not uncommon for neighbours to walk past windows and dare a quick glance. With the application of frosted glass film, this is a thing of the past. The privacy film is cut to fit you precisely, you only have to apply it to the window pane. If it doesn’t work the first time, the privacy film can be removed and reapplied at any time.
Tips for measuring
In order to accurately measure your window, it is recommended to you use a tape measure.
Tip: Start your measurement at one corner of the window, this way the tape measure will always remain at a 90 degree angle and the measurement will be more accurate.
When you measure a window always start and end at the rubber seal of the pane.
Applying the privacy film
1. Clean the window properly before applying the privacy film.
2. Mix water with washing-up liquid in a spray bottle. Alternatively, a sponge can be used.
3. Spray the detergent mixture neatly onto the surface. Do not leave any area uncovered and use more of the detergent mixture rather than too little.
4. Remove the backing paper from the privacy film and then place it on the window.
5. Align the privacy film with the window pane.
6. Once the privacy film is properly aligned, the soap mixture can now be squeezed out from under the film using a roller, felt squeegee or carefully with a bank card. To do this, start in the middle and press a cross out of the film. Then you can work the resulting squares with the squeegee and press out the soap mixture.
Tips: Place a cloth underneath the window pane to catch the soap mixture after it has been pressed out. For large areas, it is advisable to get a second person to help.
Important notes
We recommend wet application of the adhesive films. To do this, moisten the film or window surface with water or soapy water (lower surface tension > better wetting).
The advantage of a roller over a squeegee is that the material is not warped as much and squeegee wrinkles do not occur as easily.
Do not clean surfaces with alcohol, methylated spirits, petroleum ether or detergents containing ammonia, as these substances can reduce the adhesive strength!
Use only mild window cleaners or dishwashing detergents and water to clean the surfaces.
Very strong elevations (e.g. beading, rivets, screws, etc.) as well as wax residues on the window surfaces can reduce contact with the substrate and thus contribute to reduced adhesion.
Make sure that the edges in particular lie flat on the surface. Raised edges and edges that do not lie smoothly offer greater surfaces for external influences to attack.
The privacy film only adheres to smooth, glossy surfaces!
Care
After removal, we recommend cleaning the top side from dust and other dirt.
You can store the privacy film rolled up (mat side out) or stacked.
When reapplying, make sure that the adhesive side of the privacy film and the surface are cleaned.
